Below are commentary and reports I found of yahoo doing this to others |

Mike here: I saw a report that Yahoo deleted several groups For some reason, the Meade-DS user group has vanished from Yahoo! Groups. As you know, this group has been a significant source of information for the DS line of telescopes. So that we can continue with this resource, I have created a replacement group on Yahoo! groups at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Meade-DS-Telescopes/ Hopefully, this will allow DS users to continue our discussion of DS telescopes. I know you often referred DS users to our previous group. I would appreciate it if you could post this new group to your list of links, so that new DS users will be able to find us on the net! Thanks again for your great site and resources! -J. Jacobson Subject: Question about Yahoo group

I don't know who else to ask. Do you know what has happened to the
Yahoo Meade DS group? Yahoo says it doesn"t exist. Thanks for your
help. Your site is great also. Ken
Mike here: I saw a report that Yahoo deleted several groups, including the DS one. I haven't heard whether this was an error, a bug in their software, or something intentional. |

| Baby Center Ceserean Birth Support Group: Hey Pam! I lost *all* of my e-mail addresses-Yahoo deleted our entire bryndal.com account! I was just thinking of how to get in touch with you all again | |||||||||||||||||||||||
Amazingly Yahoo Sucks Even MoreIn an astounding show of jackassedness Yahoo deleted my Yahoo ID last year with no warning and no explanation. The Yahoo ID was the owner of 4 Yahoo groups including a humor list I had been operating since 1991 (I moved it to Yahoo in 2001) all of which are orphaned. I have sent numerous requests for an explanation, for the list of members of the groups, to have the groups transferred or at least to have them killed to Yahoo all of which are answered with a 'We care about you, here is your case ID' email and never another word. Earlier this year I even called the Yahoo office in California and spoke with a nice young lady who was unable to help me and told me to email the same address I had been trying to contact for the last few months. I had pretty much given up on Yahoo (I will not use any of their services any more) until today when I saw a virus infected message appear in my inbox sent to (you guessed it) the largest of the groups I had set up. I am not sure how this happened since that group was only supposed to distribute emails sent from my account and Yahoo Groups had supposedly deleted the group but somehow the 800 member group seems to still be in existence and is accepting messages from some virus infected source masquerading as me. By now I know that trying to get any cooperation from Yahoo is impossible but I have to wonder if there is anything to be done. I hate to think that the members of my old list could start getting infected messages because of Yahoo's mediocrity. |

| Cessna 150-152 Club: Our Internet Forum was Hosted at Yahoo! from December 1999 until August 13th, 2003. Yahoo! deleted the group without notice on August 13th. Yahoo! has officially refused to explain to us why the forum was deleted.
We are now hosting a new forum and email list on our own servers |

| Thanx Rob, Yes Yahoo are buggers arent they, "Sounpoemz" which I was building up just dissapeared into cyberspace without any word of warning. |

| This site has been down for almost a year since Yahoo deleted my page without reasons. As a matter of fact, I'm not putting much effort to set up the page again until now. RS3 is history, at least for me. But whether it's for memorial purpose or just to fill my new web space with something, I have put this back up. :) | |||||||||||||||||||||||

Did you guys know that even the folks who started and moderated the Launcher III/X yahoo group have no idea what happened to it? It just disappeared and there has been no explanation from Yahoo...nothing?
Oh well, if you like to use, talk about, ask about Launcher X, at least there seems a place to do it again! If you don't, you could always work towards world peace...in fact, you could do that AND visit a LX forum! The possibilities are endless... The new forum was started to replace the forum that Yahoo deleted without notice and without permission. It is intended to be a place where users and beta testers, who are also in the dark about LMC's plans for LX, can meet and help each other. CS is a great place but there are many non-Clie users of LX that also have questions and concerns. |

Over the last few weeks, Yahoo Inc. has been undergoing a purge of certain high-volume groups on their Yahoo Groups service, the latest being the ZigZagForever group. These purges seem to be for the most part an action to enforce their Acceptable Use Policy. Ostensibly this keeps Yahoo out of hot water, but already less-informed furs seem to be claiming furry persecution.
Of course, not all furs are wiling to make such leaps of judgement. Some have even been level-headed to the point of contacting Yahoo, and enquiring about group deletions. The word on the groups is that Yahoo Terms of Service ask that among other things, groups with adult content be in the Adult Category, those groups require moderation for new membership approvals, and all members have a mature age in their profile. Seems harmless enough? Even still, countless groups members are acting clueless either by not putting an age in their profile, and/or blasting Yahoo for being anti-Fur. And all because of high-volume Fur groups with no moderation and explicit content have been taken away. Arguably, this attitude stems from the ridiculous furry credo: "If you dont carry my art on your service, you are censoring me and violating my rights!" Just try tell a furry their wannabe-art isn't on-topic in your group/newsgroup, and watch the fur fly. (Some non-true-fur groups would be only too happy for furs to leave them alone, by the way.) Is Yahoo really putting down furs? Or just covering their asses? |

| Not so good news: So, technology, can’t seem to live without it these days. After 5 years or so of meeting many of you guys, people visiting the website, touring this awesome crazy world and being fortunate by getting a few thousand of your email addresses, something vague and terrible happened and somehow the email list has disappeared. Obviously, this was possibly the biggest form of communication we have, how I let you know about tours, record releases etc, and now its gone. I’ve tried so hard to try and figure it out and hopefully, miraculously, it will reappear. But this seems slim. Yahoo deleted it. So, we need your help big time. Please tell any fellow friends that were possibly on this list to come visit this site, tour dates will be up soon and please spread the word. We’re working on trying to figure out a new email list, but for now, its word of mouth time... |

| Hi, Jim. I'll certainly do an update on your page. I can't do it right away, though, cause at the mo I'm snowed under with work. Yahoo deleted my robgodfrey@yahoo.com e-mail account (that I've had for years), and like you, gawd knows why. |

| As the group had moved to ibiblio and there were no new postings, it appears that Yahoo deleted the NAFEX group. So the old archives appear to be gone. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

Paper Plane: Gary Morrison from Austin TX submitted this plane - its made from one sheet of paper with no cuts - very impressive. His plane demonstrates the many variations that are possible with paper airplanes which can vary from simple darts to complex origami. Unfortunately these are files I could not recover when Yahoo deleted my files |

| 01.15-16.04 Well... I have spent all of my free time since my last update working on this update! Here it is: 7 new wall sets, 2 new wall/floor sets, 2 new donation sets, and 7 new houses! *One of the houses is not listed on the update pic, but it's on Lot #51. Also, I am quite tired and rushed putting everything on the site. If there are any broken links, please just drop me a line, and I will get to them in the morning :) OH! Forgot to add these tidbits... YAHOO DELETED MY FIRST GROUP! I had a ton of old files uploaded there, and now they are gone. I contacted them, and they never replied with a real answer. Go figure. I'll get them back up on the other group. I did upload files to the tribeccasims2 yahoo group the other day, and I forgot about that - sorry! He He! And also..apparently there is yet another email virus going around, so beware and always run an anti-virus program!! |

| I just searched my email account and did not see it. Maybe yahoo deleted it because they knew it was competition. Just kidding. It is really weird that I did not recieve the invite. Is there a way that you could resend the email. I know that you can not send another invite but maybe if you still have it in your sent box then you could forward it again. I would really like one. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Yahoo! e-mail nightmare I'll share my nightmare and pray that one of you can help. I have a Yahoo! e-mail account... actually I have two, and none anywhere else. A while back I logged in to check my mail and received a temporary error message that stated: Temporary problem accessing your mailbox. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The problem with your mailbox has now been logged, and we are working to restore your access. Thank you for your patience.Okay, no biggie, I would try again later. Every time I checked on it I still received the same error, so after a few hours of that I gave up. Fast forward to the following afternoon, nearly 24 hours later: no change. I began searching for some tech support, a FAQ page, help desk, ANYTHING! Once I had finally found what Yahoo's excuse was for customer support, the only thing I accomplished was following the same worthless help links in circles and killing nearly four hours. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
| ELEVENTH IN LINE: Incidentally, it turns out that lloannna.geo was not signed into (for mail purposes) in so long that Yahoo deleted the email account. Which really is annoying. Fortunately it wasn't difficult to restore it, unfortunately all my saved email and my preferences were nixed. Today is not the best of all possible days for me and my computer, methinks. So I'm going to restart and start writing a draft of a new story I want to actually finish before the New Year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
| Tabitha's Place: For whatever reason, Yahoo deleted my Tabitha's Place group and I have no way of contacting everyone that was on the list. So, I'll just have to post here that her website is updated and I'll have to email people individually, I guess. I'm a bit peeved at the whole thing. Anyway, you can now visit the updated Tabitha's Place :) |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
| delerium: you should all go sign up for the mailing list at floate.com... yahoo deleted my other mailing list, so i set up another mailing list served through floate... | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Nintendo-Scene is gone again..... Yahoo deleted it again....so please guys try not to email Dave 'where's the group gone?' as he is on holiday in Germany and rather upset about it all. |

| Inversion Force -I removed the Yahoo groups thing on the miscellaneous page. Yahoo deleted it for some reason. We were growing little by little. Oh well that's over now. Aug 4th 2004 | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| National Psoriasis Foundation Community Forum: I am still working on the webpage, obviously. I had one that was GREAT and didn't touch it for a month or two while we moved and Yahoo! deleted it | |||||||||||||||||||||||
Just Call Me Red: I'm so pissed off right now. Yahoo deleted my Zounds audio page on Geocities. Why? BecauseI hadn't updated in over a week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
| Jedi Council Forum: I'm upping this because stupid Yahoo deleted my pictures. So I took pics of my collection again and put them on a freewebs account. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Haviland Family Genealogy: Hi everyone. Yahoo deleted all the members from my Haviland, Taylors and Friends Group, so if you joined, please re-join; | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Full Size Chevy: | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mary Alicia: Where's the Yahoo group? April 7th, Yahoo deleted it. As per their policy, they never explain, never reconsider a decision. But certainly the group was closely monitored and there WAS no reason to delete it. So, we will start over. This is only temporary. As soon as a new group is opened, the link will be posted here. Thank you for your patience. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Dave's Garden ( Rock Gardeners) Alpine-L is an email list focusing on rock gardening; and has a lot of members
world wide. They had a Yahoo group (Alpenpix) were members could upload their
pictures; but Yahoo deleted the group without giving any warning. I've been involved in creating a new, temporary solution; and we are finally finished with it. There are already a lot of pictures uploaded, so follow the link at the bottom of this posting if you'd like to take a look. |

On 4/5/05 Yahoo deleted the discussion group that we had there for the past five years, without notice. There were over 6,000 members and thousands of messages in the archive. It was a great resource for information about female sexuality that is gone for ever. I am in the process of finding a new home for our discussions. I will keep you posted. |
